Hire a recently trained doula to attend your birth!
When finances are a concern, families can opt to work with a doula who is building her practice.
Why hire a recently trained doula?
A recently trained doula has completed the Professional Doula Program training course, which includes hands-on training in labor support skills. The doula may have also completed some or all of the recommended reading and is in process building her practice.
What does a recently trained doula cost?
New doulas set their own fees, but they often charge about half to two-thirds of the average rate of experienced doulas. Fees vary depending on experience and what other skills the doula brings. Barter is another option for affording a doula, and many doulas welcome such payment arrangements.
What areas do the recently trained doulas serve?
I train doulas from all over Colorado. While the majority of my students live in and around the Denver/Boulder metro areas, I do have a number of recently trained students in other parts of the state.
What training does a new doula have?
A new doula has completed the 45 hour Professional Doula Program course which includes hands-on training in labor support skills. The doula may have also completed some or all of the recommended reading and is in process of building her practice.
